Concrete Silt Trap In The City of Benbrook

The Problem

The City of Benbrook wanted a permanent silt trap constructed upstream from existing culverts.

The Solution

This is the first ever permanent silt trap designed in this area to meet the new qualitative requirements set forth in the iSWM manual from the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

The crews began the form work for the concrete walls
and entrance ramp to the trap.

The concrete is completed, awaiting the fences and barriers.

The final service entrance from the street disappears
as part of the fence.
The silt trap after a heavy rain holding the first flush of rainfall,
capturing the silt, doing its job.
